Describe your office space to us:

Because I live in a pretty small one bedroom apartment, creating an office space was a bit of a challenge. I decided to turn a small corner of my living room into my working area by adding a desk and giving the space it’s own aesthetic, somewhat unique to the rest of the apartment.

Where did the inspiration for your office design come from?

I knew I wanted my office space to complement the rest of my apartment, yet still have it’s own vibe. So I took inspiration from the rest of my apartment – using bright colors against a clean slate – but added golds and dressed it up a bit. Since scouring Pinterest is one of my daily routines, I certainly got a lot of inspiration from there as well.

Which stores or websites did you go to to purchase your office decor?

I got my actual desk from IKEA and did a little hack by spray painting the legs gold. The lamp and chair are from Urban Outfitters, the organizers from The Container Store, and the artwork from multiple places, including One Kings Lane. I also love going to stores like Paper Source for pretty notebooks and pens.

What is your favorite part/design of your office design space and why?

I just love how bright and inviting the space is. It doesn’t look so serious and intimidating, but more fun and an enjoyable place to get some work done.

Do you feel that having a well designed and inspiring office has changed the way you work?

Definitely! Instead of procrastinating, I find myself wanting to sit at my desk just because it’s so pretty! And that usually leads to me getting some world done. I also recommend changing up the artwork or rearranging the small things to keep your creativity flowing and keep you inspired!

If you could use one word to describe the feel of your office space, what would it be?

Tell us about your company and what it means to you to have a well-designed office space.

My blog, Advice from a Twenty Something, is a modern advice column with aesthetically inspiring and realistically useful posts. Having a well-organized, colorful, and creatively inspiring work space is extremely important when working on the site. It keeps my focus on maintaining the aesthetic of my brand and also, more importantly, motivates me to get work done!
