Describe your office space to us.

Colorful. Definitely colorful.

Where did the inspiration for your office space design come from?

My office kinda, sorta just came together. It was the first room in the house that I started putting stuff from The Husband and I’s old apartment in. I knew it needed to be on a budget and didn’t want to run out and buy all new stuff, so I had to figure out a way to incorporate some of our old things. I played off some of the colors that existed in our accessories and went from there.

What is your favorite part/design of your office space and why? i.e. the arched window in the front office, etc.

I love that my office has a glossy black fireplace! It wasn’t originally black, and I’m completely happy that I decided to go that route. It’s kinda the focal point. Mess with my work and I will throw you in there. Just Kidding.

Do you feel that having a well designed and inspiring office has changed the way you feel while you work? Funny you ask that, because I was thinking about a time when I interviewed at a non-Interior Design place. In fact, it wasn’t creative whatsoever and I remember sitting through the interview thinking, “If I get this job, I’m going to be miserable”. No sign of floorplans or pretty fabric. The office felt very office-y. I needed color, a sense of design somewhere, anywhere. Every design job I’ve had was in a well-designed, stylish office and I felt motivated and excited to be there. So to answer your question, yes absolutely.

Tell us about your blog Design Stiles and what it means to you to have a well-designed office space.

I started my blog before trying to start my company (it’s still a work in progress). My blog consists of Interior Design, inspirational and fashion photos, and sometimes the occasional witty remarks. I honestly can’t imagine not even trying to have a well-designed space. It’s in my blood to think about space planning and creating an environment that feels functional and very me. Like any room in the house, the office space should allow you to feel inspired and feel great about where you work.

I love it that’s a very cute and cozy office. At first look it appears so simple but then when I looked at the detailed pictures I noticed the complexity to the design.
