Describe your office space to us. Where did the inspiration for your office design come from?

I have always been a big fan of everything Chanel (totally obsessed with everything black and white). I was afraid to paint the black/white striped accent wall because it was so bold. But, it was only paint and I knew that I could always paint over the stripes, if I didn’t like them. However, once the wall was painted, I fell in love with the stripes.

Which stores or websites did you go to to purchase your office decor?

I shopped online at some of my favorite stores – Z Gallerie, Pottery Barn, CB2, IKEA, and Etsy. Other stores were local such as TJ Maxx, Target, and Kudzu Antiques. My big office pieces (tables, chairs, and desk) came from Z Gallerie. I purchased lighting accessories from Pottery Barn and a bookcase from CB2.
I stumbled upon fabulous black/white striped binders and accessories at Target that were a perfect touch for my bookcase. Etsy is a great source for unique items and I found a vintage gold office nameplate, Chanel poster and “Press for  Champagne” doorbell to add a bit of office whimsy.   I also went through every room in my home and gathered accessories that would be a good fit for the office.

What is your favorite part/design of your office design space and why?

I love the exposed brick wall and the metal industrial hanging lights. These unique textures give my office a unique feel that creates a space that’s truly special.

Do you feel that having a well-designed and inspiring office has changed the way you work?

Most definitely, I believe a well designed office should be functional, aesthetically pleasing to the eyes and comfortable. My office encompasses all of these qualities where I’m inspired to be creative everyday.

If you could use one word to describe the feel of your office space, what would it be?

Lovely.

Tell us about your company and what it means to you to have a well-designed office space.

As with all good design, I wanted to create an office space that would be an extension of my home: warm, inviting, and comfortable. The furnishings were arranged for conversation, as my aesthetic style is centered on hosting client meetings while retaining a personal feel. Most important was attractive storage solutions that would keep me well organized, yet bring together style and function. I do like the fact that my office is my home away from home where I can separate work from family life by creating boundaries and a cohesive work-life balance.
