My office is stylish minimalism with a dash of girly-chic flair. It’s completely different from the rest of my home’s decor, because it’s much more feminine and fashion forward. Working out of my home, I spend a great deal of time in my office, at least 7 hours a day. I love it because it’s comfortable and has two large windows which makes the rooms well lit, perfect for my kind of work environment.
Where did the inspiration for your office design come from?
My office inspiration was inspired by my company, Creatively Flawless. It was important for me to have a workspace that was reflective of my business so I could work peacefully and stay inspired. Being a brand strategist and graphic designer, I find that my skill sets overflow into home decor, which is super fun.
Which stores or websites did you go to to purchase your office decor?
It’s such a mix of stores, there no specific place that I go to, but my favorite place is Home Goods. When I’m shopping there, I always find unique, yet inexpensive pieces. Lately, I have been a huge fan of Joss and Main, which has curated sales depending on your decor style – my desk chair is from there. When I am feeling the need to splurge, I head over to Gilt, an online retailer which has designer items for a fraction of the cost – my rug is from there which added the perfect touch to the room.
What is your favorite part/design of your office design space and why?
The gallery wall has been a budding favorite lately because I feel like it’s the focal point of the office. They photos tell a story of being a creative woman in business and living in purpose while being fabulous at it. I plan on adding more photos, but they have to add to the story seamlessly. Nonetheless, each area is special in it’s own way, but it all comes together as a collective.
Do you feel that having a well designed and inspiring office has changed the way you work?
Having a well designed office has not only changed the way that I work, but it’s inspired my work. I find myself creating my best work and doing it with ease because I am in my dream atmosphere. The better my office is designed, the better I work.
If you could use one word to describe the feel of your office space, what would it be?
One word to describe my office is empowering. Moving into my own personal office this summer, was symbolism of growth. I remember working my 9-5 in a cubicle of some sort, now I’m in my own office with a full-time business. It’s empowering because my plan is to help transition as women women as I can into full-time entrepreneurship.
